PRE-FILING NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the office of Staci Choate, Village Clerk, will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays, beginning Aug 20, 2024 through Dec 18, 2024 for the purpose of issuing petition packets for the Consolidated Election to be held on April 1, 2025, for the following offices.

Village President-4 year term, Village Trustee-4 year term (3),   Library Trustee-6 year term (3), Library Trustee- 6 year term (3).

The filing period for the above completed petitions and forms will be Nov 12-15, 2024, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (occasionally closing during lunch hour) except the last day to file Nov 18, 2024 the office will be open until 5:00 p.m., in the Wayne City Village Hall, 102 S Main Street, Wayne City, IL 62895.

Red Cross Blood Drive

Wayne City High School FCCLA will be hosting an upcoming blood drive. If you would like to join this lifesaving mission, schedule an appointment today through the American Red Cross at www.redcrossblood.org.  This event will be Wednesday Sept 11th from 10am to 4pm in the WCHS Gymnasium.

62nd Annual Wayne City Bean Days

Begins: 9/21/2024
Ends: 9/28/2024

The theme for this year's Bean Days is "Recipe for Small Town Success" with Lanny Smith, Derek Mays and Pat Harvey as the parade marshals.  The dates for events will be Saturday, September 21st starting with the Miss and Little Miss Bean Queen Pageant at the WC High School going thru September 28th with the Bean Days Parade on Main Street at 10am.  Free ham & beans will be served after the parade.  Stop by the Village Hall and pick up a schedule of events. Vendor applications can be filled out & submitted on Facebook.  Also t-shirts will be available to order at Village Hall.

Bean Days Church Night

Church Night for Bean Days this year will be hosted by Church of the Harvest. starting at 6 pm on Thursday, Sept. 26th.

5K Foam Run/Walk

Begins: 9/27/2024 - 6:00 pm
Ends: 9/27/2024

Wayne City High School Prom will be having a 5K Foam Run/Walk Friday Sept 27th starting at 6pm at the Wayne City High School parking lot with proceeds benefiting the Wayne City School Prom.  Entry fees are $20 and advance registration must be postmarked on or before Sept 18th to guarantee a t-shirt.  Race day registraton is 5:15-5:50 pm.  Questions can be emailed to Twilla King- tking@waynecity100.org and also Angie Kelly- akelly@waynecity100.org. Sweetie's Townwide Block Party

Sweeties will be hosting a block party, Friday Sept 27th right after the 5K starting at 7pm. Tony Waters will be the DJ.  Everyone come out and enjoy some delicious treats and music for the whole family.

Wayne City Bean Days Parade

Ends: 9/28/2024

The Bean Days Parade will start at 10a.m. & will proceed down Main Street.  The vendor and craft fair, food booths and various activities for kids and adults will be set up all along Mill Street thoughout the day. See a list of activities on Facebook and you can pick up an events card at Village Hall.

32nd ANNUAL TNA BUCKING BULLS RODEO

Wayne City Saddle Club will be hosting their Annual TNA Bucking Bulls Rodeo Saturday, Sept 28th at 7pm during Bean Days weekend at the Wayne City Saddle Club.  Come out for a great night of rodeo fun!!

Fall TownWide Rummage Sales

The Village of Wayne City has scheduled the Fall Townwide Rummage Sales for Friday and Saturday, Oct 11th & 12th.  Call the Village Hall by Tuesday Oct 1st at 895-2241 if you want your name to be put on the sales list & map. These will be available at the Village Hall and at local businesses on Wed Oct 2nd.

There is no clean up day in the fall.
