FFA SPRING PLANT SALE

The Wayne City High School will be holding their annual Spring Plant Sale starting Saturday, April 20th from 8-1pm, Monday, April 22, 8-6pm, Friday, April 26th, 8-6pm and ends Saturday, April 27th, 8-1pm   This will be in the greenhouse next to the school. Cash, check and credit card will be accepted..Come support the FFA and  load up on all the  beautiful flowers and plants they have to offer.

Child Find/Preschool Screening

The Wayne City School Unit #100 is conducting Child Find/Preschool Screening for Birth to 5 year old children not yet enrolled in public schools and who are not kingergarten eligible for the 2024-2025 school year. The screening checks each child's progress in hearing, vision, speech, language, and coordination skills. This will give parents a better idea of how their child is progressing at this very young age before he/she begins school. This screening program is free and parents will receive immediate feedback on how their child is developing. Pre-K personnel will aslo be present to explain their program and other services available in the area. Screenings will be held at the Wayne City Baptist Church on April 25 from 8:30-2:30.  The screening procedure takes about 45 minutes, and approintments must be made. You can call Tesia Maxey at 618/895-0357 to make appt or get more information.  This service is a FREE check of your child's progess in the developmental areas, and you dont have to live in the Wayne City school district.  Children that are screening before they are 3 will be screened by Early Intervention and will not be eligible for Pre-K till they are 3.

Kindergarten Screening and Registration

Ends: 4/26/2024 - 3:00pm

Wayne City Schools Unit #100 is conducting their Kindergarten Screening and Registration on April 25th and 26th.  This will be held at Wayne City Baptist Church from 8:30am-3:00pm each day. Eligible children are those who will be 5 by Sept 1st, 2023.  The screening process checks for kindergarten readiness and typically takes 5 to 10 minutes.  This is also an opportunity for you and your child to meet their teachers.  Please call Mrs. Tesia Maxey at 618-895-0357 to set up an appt.  Please bring copies of immunization records, dental and eye exams, and a school physical if available at this time.

Wayne City Scholarship Foundation Fundraiser

The annual Wayne City Scholarship Foundation fundraiser is coming up! It will be held on April 28th at the WC  Community Building.  Students are selling raffle tickets so if you'd like to buy tickets, please ask a high school student. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.  Prizes are $500 cash or gun (foid card required).  There will be a live auction at 12:30 with Mark Barnard, Auctioneer. Dinner is by donation.  Come out and support this great cause.

Spring TownWide Rummage Sales

The Village of Wayne City has scheduled the Spring Townwide Rummage Sales for Friday and Saturday, May 3rd & 4th.  Call the Village Hall by Tuesday April 30th at 895-2241 if you want your name to be put on the sales list & map. These will be available at the Village Hall and at local businesses on Wed. May 1st.

Clean up day will be May 8th.

Wayne City Townwide Clean up will be Wednesday  May 8th.  A list of items that can and cannot be picked up are available at Village Hall and can also be seen on this website under the Upcoming Events Images tab.

All items must be curbside.

Wayne City Unit #100 Graduation Day

The Wayne City High School graduation will be held Sunday, May 19th at 2:00 pm in the competition gym.  The grade school graduation will be held at 3:30 pm.  Congratulations to all the graduating students!!
